The luminaire base can be made from stainless steel or aluminum, at the client's discretion. The LED boards are encased inside waterproof optical polymer 'capsules'.

The light necessary for plant growth lies in the range of  400-450 Nm (nanometers) for the blue spectrum and 650-700 Nm for the red spectrum. The increase in the green mass, the size of the leaves and the overall growth rate of plants are believed to depend on the blue spectrum. On the other hand, the red spectrum facilitates the root system development, flowering, and fruit ripening. The light produced by most lighting fixtures does not include the above-mentioned ranges of these spectra. As a result, it does not facilitate the growth of plants in any way.
